Bringing your best self to the table workshop

This workshop is focused on developing the leaders of the future. It is important to have strong technical representatives in cereal disciplines. By providing applicable information that students will not pick up from course work, this symposium will act to provide knowledge on soft skills that will complement their technical expertise. This symposium will cultivate experience in personal development, and highlight the importance of volunteerism, culture affinity, enhanced public speaking ability, personal organization, a strong professional network, team mentality, and business acumen.

Student Product Development Competition

Monday, October 24
8:30 – 12:00 p.m.

The Student Association Product Development Competition (PDC) is organized by students and sponsored by AACCI corporate member organizations. The PDC provides a great opportunity for students to apply knowledge and skills learned in the classroom to create food products for the real world. The competition encourages innovative thinking and promotes the connection between academic research and industrial production. Students work individually or in a teams to develop a novel food products containing at least one major cereal/legume ingredient.

Best Student Research Paper Competition

The AACC International Professional Development Panel will be hosting the 8th annual Best Student Research Paper Competition to be held at the 2016 AACCI Annual Meeting. The objectives of the competition are to challenge students to demonstrate superior presentation skills, encourage students to present their research work at AACCI, highlight the best research conducted and presented by students, and offer an opportunity for students to interact with the AACCI community at an early stage in their career.
